To properly save passwords on a Chromebook, you need to perform the following configuration from G-Suite (Google Admin Console):
User Data
Only the administrator has access to the admin console. If you're unsure who that is, contact the IT coordinator or the person managing the school's emails.
To save user data, follow these steps:
- Click on "Devices."
- Search for "Chrome" and click on "Settings."
- Go to the "Device Settings" tab and look for the "Sign-in Settings" section.
- Then, find "User Data" and select "Do not erase local user data," as shown in the image:
⚠️ IMPORTANT: Save changes after any modifications.
🤖 Solver Tip: If you remove a user from a Chromebook, it erases the history and, consequently, any saved apps and credentials.
We recommend that students always use the same Chromebooks. For instance, you can number the computers and assign one to each student, ensuring they always use the same one. This way, the number of users created per device will be much lower, avoiding filling up the storage.
